What is the meaning of PTE? 

PTE stands for Pearson Test of English. The Pearson Test of English is a computer-based English competency test that is used internationally. To sit the test, candidates need to register online and take their test in an authorized PTE test center. There are many of these centers around the world.

Which countries accept PTE for immigration?

Australia and New Zealand currently accept the PTE as a valid measure of a person's ability to succeed in their new country. A score of 65 on the test gets 10 points in Australia's immigration system, while a score of 79 receives 20 points. To obtain 30 points, an individual must achieve an average of 84 across all skills on the test.

What is the minimum PTE score for Australia?

To be eligible for a student visa in Australia, you must have a PTE Academic score of at least 42. However, if you do 10 weeks of English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students, your PTE Academic score can be as low as 36.


Is PTE valid for 3 years?


Starting on 29th October 2019, PTE Academic test-takers will be able to see and assign their test scores for up to 3 years from the date of their test. If a test taker took their test more than two years ago, the Department may contact PTE Academic's support team in order to have the result manually verified.
