Employer Sponsored Visa (subclass 482/186)
For skilled workers with a job offer from an approved Australian employer sponsor.
Employer sponsorship covers the Temporary Skill Shortage visa (subclass 482) and the Employer Nomination Scheme (subclass 186) for a permanent outcome. Both require an approved sponsoring employer and a genuine position in an eligible occupation.
For many ACEM clients this runs alongside, rather than instead of, the points-tested pathway — whichever becomes available first.
Who this visa is for
Broadly, you'll need:
- A genuine job offer from an approved or provisional sponsor
- The occupation on the relevant eligible list
- Relevant skills, qualifications and (for most streams) a skills assessment
- To meet English and, for some streams, age requirements
